Our Fellows

What does it mean to be a Fellow?

  • You are a selected graduate of an UtmostU affiliate. This could be a high school, community-based organization, or scholarship program. (See Our Affiliate page)
  • You have direction and a post-secondary educational plan.
  • You appreciates that success rarely happens alone and that a network of support increases the chance of reaching goals.
  • You want to stay in regular communication with a post-secondary coach and map out critical milestones.
  • You like to belong to a community of forward-thinking young adults

For close to 10 years, UtmostU has proven that direct engagement with young adults has improved their ability to reach their life goals. Having an advocate, mentor, and personal cheerleader increases the potential for success.  You will be paired with an Pathway Coach from your school or organization who will stay in touch with you throughout your path towards a degree or certificate.  You will also be matched with a Peer Mentor (as available), offered a free T-Mobile data and phone line, connected with other Fellows in the UtmostU community, access to emergency funds, professional development opportunities, and a regular grant to participate in this unique program.

Fellows are advised by their Pathway Coach and their Peer Mentor at least monthly to support their forward movement to program completion.  You can see an outline of how your coach and UtmostU supports you below.  Through the online UtmostU Community, Fellows will receive monthly surveys to assess their mindset. Fellows receive small compensation to participate in the surveys.

Fellows are provided:

  • a personal Pathway Coach to advocate for their goals

  • a Peer Mentor to provide near-peer guidance

  • access to T-Mobile data and voice line

  • access to the UtmostU community for collective support

  • emergency funds

  • pre-professional training and internship opportunities
